The first significant commission and the most ambitious project to date — over the course of 200 hours, this piece put everything I knew to use. I had previously applied solid frames to veneered panels, but for this project I turned the direction of the grain in the border to enhance the effect. This led to the choice to use veneer throughout. A gentle curve runs along the outside edge of the top, paralleled at the line between the border and the interior — an element I find graceful and plan to carry into future work. Seats six to eight.
