This is the only piece in the portfolio built from a design by someone else, which presented its own challenges — drawing on techniques to meet an established vision rather than developing one from scratch. The sliding dovetails connecting the cross-grain middle section proved demanding, but ultimately met the demands of the project. Finished in a hand-rubbed oil that deepens the natural figure of the Claro walnut.
